As the second largest city in New Mexico, Las Cruces is surrounded by 13 cities, towns, and suburbs within 121 miles of the city limits. The average commute time in Las Cruces is 17 minutes. Whether you are commuting to work or school or flying out of town, the city of Las Cruces is home to a wide range of transportation services that can get you from point A to point B. Special promotions are given to students, seniors, and qualified ADA individuals by some of the transportation services given below.

Buses

RoadRUNNER Transit operates a fixed route system with 30-foot buses that drop off and pick up passengers at bus stops all over town. Click here for schedules and maps. They also offer Dial-a-Ride services in smaller vans for seniors and individuals who fall under the Americans With Disabilities Act.

  For those traveling outside Las Cruces city limits, Ztrans provides service to Alamogordo, Holloman AFB, La Luz, Tularosa, and Mescalero Apache Reservation. They also offer paratransit services and transport to 7 stops within town including Walmart and the Mesilla Valley Mall. 

 The NM DOT Park & Ride program offers a Gold Route with transport to Anthony and El Paso from pick up points on NMSU and the terminal on Alameda. Their Silver Route picks up at NMSU, the Alameda terminal, and Ashley Furniture and transports to White Sands Missile Range.

 For NMSU students, Aggie Transit operates a free shuttle for riders with a valid Pete’s pass to locations all over campus. They also offer a paratransit service for disabled students that will take them from class to class. Through the U-Pass program, enrolled students can also use RoadRUNNER transit services for free.

Taxis and Shuttles

Las Cruces Shuttle & Taxi Service offers taxi service anywhere in Dona Ana County 7 days a week. They also offer a shuttle service to and from the El Paso International Airport, and the Amtrak and bus stations in El Paso and Las Cruces areas.

Crimson Cab offers free safe rides to NMSU students from 9pm to 5am, and they are also available (reservations recommended) on other days and times for transportation around town and to the airport. The Crimson Coach service runs between Garcia Hall and Little Bit of Texas on Friday nights and between Dublin’s, Whiskey Dicks, De La Vega’s, and The Warehouse on Saturdays.                                                                            Limos and Party Busses

 For limos and party busses, check out L&M Limousine Service. Their fleet includes three Lincoln Town cars, a Lincoln Navigator, a Ford Expedition, a 10-passenger stretch limo and a Ford Excursion 14-passenger stretch. Las Cruces Taxi & Shuttle also offers a limousine.

 For a night out on the town in style, rent a decked-out, 18 or 32 passenger party bus through PTA Limousine.

Long Distance Travel

The Las Cruces International Airport is located on the West Mesa about 8 miles from Downtown Las Cruces. They don’t currently offer regularly scheduled commercial passenger flights, but they do offer general and corporate aviation services. The Doña Ana County International Jetportat Santa Teresa is a full-service jetport with a runway that supports small jets, cargo aircraft, and private planes.

 The El Paso International Airport is just a short drive away and offers airline passenger services through major carriers Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, and United. They also have air cargo and general aviation services.

 For bus travel, Greyhound bus operates out of Las Cruces and Amtrak offers bus service out of Las Cruces with transport to their train stations in El Paso and Albuquerque.
